Rider Levels
Beginner
Beginners start their horseback riding experience in private lessons. This one-on-one attention ensures they develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful.
Beginner Riders Learn:
- How to properly groom a horse
- How to tack up a horse
- Properly leading a horse
- Safely mounting and dismounting a horse
- How to balance and steer
- How to walk and trot with control
- General equestrian safety
Intermediate
Intermediate classes build upon the lessons learned in the beginner level. Intermediate riders will work on skills including balance, coordination, position and technique.
Intermediate Riders Learn:
- Communication with your horse
- Correct riding position
- Balance development
- Riding technique
- Coordination of movement between horse and rider
- Proper seat
- Leg positioning
- Using reins
- Diagonals in the trot
- Leads in the canter
- More refinement with the aids
Advanced
Advanced level classes hone in your riding skills to help make you competitive in the horse show arena. Advanced classes are offered in group lessons or private lessons to give you the attention you feel you need.
Advanced Riders Learn:
- Continued rhythm in riding
- Transitioning in sequence
- Lateral patterns
- Advanced riding techniques
- Ride more sensitive horses
